| As a mean to assist the national effort to reduce the health disparities that exist within minorities, the Clinic’s Outreach & Educational Programs include a variety of services such as health screenings, educational and nutritional counseling, addressing the illnesses of highest prevalence among Hispanics: Cancer, Hypertension, Cholesterol & Diabetes. The same way, it incorporates cultural and artistic activities to contribute to the quality of life of the community it serves. Residing in Little Havana. Through an organized, year-around program these families have complete access to medical, fitness and follow up screenings, after-school sports and artistic activities, sociopolitical events, educational workshops on safety, health and nutrition and our exclusive free “Door-to-Door” Service, where our health professionals go directly to the homes of the families that need it most. Developed to educate Hispanic families on how to better select, prepare and consume healthier and nutritional meals by modifying some of the ingredients of the traditional Hispanic recipes and cooking methods. The objective is to promote a healthier life style as well as to support the families as they implement the changes needed in their daily routines to achieve it. |
